Depends- is there a fish or a coral you are dying to get?
If corals and clams are your main focus then you need to get very strong lighting with a good sump setup preferably then focus your fish around that but if your looking for color then dartfish would be a good pick and if the tank is large enough after it becomes established you could check out some mandarins too

Stay away from fox face and copperbaneded butterflys as they will pick at the clams.
If your main thing you want is coral and clams then I'm sure you could pick out a schooling fish to keep the bioload small but still have activity in the tank.
Mandarins require a healthy pod population. That's a fish for down the road- bit well worth the wait. Mine is always out and about.
