Thank you do much for your helpfulness and your tips it's really gonna help me on this crazy journey. This is what i was able to do today. Laid down the substrate, added water(chlorination, and the salt) and just turned the filter on with no filter bag. Gonna let the water clear then test it when i get home from work.

Looks like your next step will be getting your rock work and possibly a nano circulation pump.

How long should i cycle this water before i start adding live rock?
I was thinking of looking at corals today at the fish store, is it too soon? Are those nice expensive corals for tanks that are already have live rock in it?

I'm sorry to pound you with all these questions at once but now that the tank is up i'm excited! So what exactly am i going to do with this nano filter? Am I just going to put a sponge in it or am I just not going to use it at all? I think I'm gonna go out and find 150-250 gph power head like you said.

Your cycle will take as long as it takes. No way to put an eta on it that's why you buy a test kit. Once your parameters read 0 ammo 0 nitrIte and high levels of nitrate your cycled pretty much. Plus, the water isn't what holds the bacteria its the rock and sand so to start your cycle you need your rock. Once you get your rock all you need to do for a fishless cycle is feed the tank as if it had a fish and that food will jump start the nitrogen cycle. The filters are optional although I would run one that way you have options to use mechanical filtration or some medias like gfo or something.
