After some research I guess these white spots are part of the tank maturing and theyll go away with time. Ill just keep wiping them off the glass for now.

Some good news this morning. The hermit crab changed shells, I actually got to watch it happen. I knew he was looking for a new one, the ones I got off reefcleaners were way too big, so I asked the clown breeder if he had any. Sure enough he had 4 smaller sized ones. two days later, the hermit crab picked one.

The new clown seems to be loving his new home too. Super playful when you come over to the tank, eating really well, and seems to be real happy. I'll post pictures when I get back from work today.

Here are some pics of the tank. I think I need to find a way to reduce the flow of the powerhead a little bit. I have it in the left back corner, pointing towards the front right corner. When I turn it off to feed in the morning the clown fish swims around like crazy. When I turn it back on he stays in the corner for a while then ventures out every once and a while. Any ideas on how to position it?

I have noticed when the clown is by the sand and the fire shrimp sees this, he'll attack. He got the clown once in the tail and he's got a little cut now. I think if I somehow fix the flow this will go away.

Send a message via Skype™ to kdpuffer
Aim your powerhead at the surface and it will help dissipate the flow. Tank looks awesome btw.

Double thanks! I think ive spent more time on this tank then i have on my big one lol. I'll try that with the power head Tuesday when I put in some more corals.

I've done a lot of mods to this tank already, I'll take pictures of all of them when I get home.

I know my tank is still maturing, but I'm starting to get a bunch of different algae. I'm seeing red algae, green, hair, and some that's blowing little bubbles (but I don't think it's bubble algae, could be though).

Should I just let it run it's course, or should I do something about it? It seems to be just the spot directly under the light.

Here are some pictures of all the mods I did to the tank...hopefully I don't need to do anymore lol. I took pictures of the ATO, custom 18w LED fixture, and the filter mods.

I couldn't get a picture of the heater in the filter, I would need to take out a bunch of lr, but it's wedged in there lol

Modding this tank was A LOT of fun. I'm picking up some more corals tomorrow and I think I'm going to do a little rescaping. I'm thinking maybe having two mounds of LR instead of the one big one in the middle. I'll see how it looks tomorrow.

Well, the tank is still new, and I do have a minor algae problem, but overall it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Having the ATO is a HUGE benefit IMO. I really like the look of SW, and this nano tank might have sparked interest in a bigger tank down the road. I've been saving up for a large FW tank (I was thinking. 225 or 250) for when I move in with my girlfriend. Maybe I'll break it up to 2 125gs (1 FW 1 SW) or just save up for another monster tank lol.
