Originally wanted a reef tank but there are so many fish i like that are not reef safe.. If I decide not to do reef I can still keep my shrimps right? What about stuff like sea stars?

Yeah you can keep anything you want in a fowlr, but it depends on what fish you get. You obviously can't get something that eats shrimp and keep shrimp lol

i know it's not reef safe.. but do they eat pepermint shrimp?etc

I'm gonna assume all the defenseless inverts like cleaner shrimp, small pistol shrimps, small crabs, feather dusters, etc.

Let's not assume. I need an experienced answer if I could :)

It actually depends on the individual fish. For instance I have a lawnmower blenny most actually eat algae. mine don't I feed it formula two flakes hoping that is enough algae in his diet but to eat sheets of nori or hair algaeforget it he will wait until I feed the other fish to eat. My other lawnmower would only eat algae based food and algae.
