Idk why they go back but ive heard some sad stories about them, if you dont have a ton of pods, death will likely occur, I def think the mandarins are gorgwous but would hate to see money wasted

Why can't they just eat like a normal fish? its like the coolest fish ever and i can't get one. they are way too tempting at the LFS. I saw them feeding them frozen brine shrimp once and only 2/7 were eating.

Don;t get me wrong, I LOVE my mandy but I still wonder if it's worth all this effort for just one fish. I;m just starting to get her to eat more prepared but it's taken weeks to get to this point.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

I wanted a pruple too but the price tag drove me away. lol

I just cant do it for one fish. I could get like a boatload of other fish for that price. My lfs has a small one for 119$ but I just couldnt do it today. Plus he was too small to compete with my other tangs.

ok ok ok. i will hold off on one untill i get my refugium up and running. buy a bottle of pods and hopefully grow them like crazy. the bottle is live correct? and they just need light and water?

also the problem with the new 1400's is now that i have more than one, i kinda what to move rocks around.

ok so i DID move the rocks around, just a bit. not a lot. this blue tang just kept swimming around with the clowns. then i sat in front of the tank and she didnt care that someone was watching or not.

i still havent put the second in yet because the 750/1400 is still working like a champ. no noticeable heat off the pump like the motor is working harder than it should. i am thinking what if i put the third one on the back wall and point it at the front of the tank. now that there is lr in it it should was my sand away like it did the last time.

also any clues as to why the substrate is browing/yellowing in some places?

could that be pod growth for my manderin?
