Would it be beneficial to add different types of algea to my refugium? I currently have the dark green stuff, but I have also seen red and light green algea.

Chaetomorpha seems to be the macro of choice for most members of this website. That's what I use in my fuge and it grows like crazy. I get very little algae growth in my display tank. I run the fuge lights 24/7.

That's what I tried at one time. I used caluerpa, and gracillaria but the Chaeto always out competed it. The Caluerpa and Gracillaria usually lasted a month or so and just slowly fell apart and melted away while the Chaeto just kept getting bigger.
