Garage Time Delima

Hey guys. I'm trying my hand at my first SW aquarium, using an old tank we had that used to be FW. All of the equipment has been sitting in my parents garage for maybe... oh, 5 years. Should I buy a new heater/power filter? Or do you think it is still ok for the long run?

I would definitely buy a new filter and heater, you should also test the tank outside and make sure it is gonna hold water, it is not unheard of for the silicone to dry rot.
