Getting everything i need to have a successful running tank

I am getting a 300 gal glass tank built for me and i need to know what i need to run it and diagrams or a step by step walk through on the things i need to run it . I know filteration, but what kind . I also was told to get 2 bulkfittings for the tank , and to get two cut outs for the fittings. What are these for and how will that set up work , wont water drain through these fittings. I know i sounds dumb but im just trying to get an understanding of all this. I already have a 90 gal tank with simple operations such as a filter, protein skimmer, heater, but for this 300 gal people are saying i need water pumps, bulkfitting, cuttings in the tank . I guess what im asking is what do i purchase and how do i set it up . If you have the name of the products and diagrams on setups , or a step by step walk through you would be a life saver for me. The price of the products is not that big of an issue i know this stuff isnt cheap thats why im trying to make sure i do it right the fist time. I have a leopard shark , brown banded catshark, sailfin tang right now and i want to put them and live rock in this 300 gal tank , so please help me in any way possible , Thank u so much

Filtration I would suggest 400+lbs of live rock and 4" sand bed with a good skimmer for that size tank. What kind of skimmer? I cant help you with that.

The bulkhead fittings and cutouts will be for two drain lines like you said. You will plumb these bulkheads up to the top of the tank and they will be overflows that willdrain water down to a sump setup. WIthin the sump you can have your heaters, skimmer, etc. THen a pump will return the water to the tank either thru return portals or by plumbing water up and over the tank. The pumps are for returning water back to the main tank from the sump and for providing water current in the main tank.

thank you i was able to get a diagram from one of the links on this web site i greatly appreciate your help. I really needed understanding about this operation before i started getting everything. Now if you had this size tank what brand protein skimmer would you use and would you get a wet/dry filteration system or would you use another type, and someone told me i need to get a Mag Drive 18 and i think a Mag Drive 700 i cant remember. Is this so and what are these pumps used for and where do they go, why do i need two pumps. If you have any other suggestions you would be very helpful . Thank u for your reply
