I am almost ready to fill my 150 Gal. I just half to drywall around the tank first(I would hate to fill it and then half to move it a 1/4").
I plan on buying 60# of base rock from hirocks.com and 80# of live rock from liverocks.com. Here is what I'm thinking. 1. Put the sand in and fill with saltwater. 2. Add the baserock. My question is should I have the tank filled with sand, water, and base rock before I order the live rock? This way I can put it right in the tank the day it arrives and throw the shrimp in. Also, I have heard if you cycle with live rock, you will get die off. Should I only cycle with half of the live rock and then order more after the cycle is over. Or will that start a mini cycle again?[/b]

Yea the way you are thinking of it will be fine.

It will start a mini-cycle.

I would do you you thought, add ALL your live rock, then do a few water changes (so it doesnt kill the LR) and have some shrimp in there too.
