Green "algae"

So over the past two days, I have come into an abundant amount of green (I am guessing algae) on the walls and bottom of my tank. What should I do to prevent this.

Not sure if this applies with your particular kind of algae, however, doing more partial water changes helps with some kinds of algae. A lot of algae will grow regularly since there are lights on the tank etc. Snails can also help with algae. I have Mexican Turbo Snails which do a great job with many types of algae. One of the downfalls with them is that they can knock over things.
Please don't forget about the toxins in some corals (like zoas and palythoas)
