growing pains?

I have 3 tangs in my tank that have been in there for a couple of months. The sailfin gets these tears in his dorsal fin that are usually about 1 inch. The tears heal completely in under 2 days everytime. He has doubled the size of the other 2 in the last couple of weeks. Is there a reason that this tang is growing so fast, his fins are huge siloweted in the tank he looks like a batfish. Has anyone ever had similar experience with sailfins dorsal fin tearing or ripping during growth?

They could be tearing due to a nutritional deficiency or the tangs could be squabbling for dominance. This could also be the reason for the accelerated growth. Make sure your tangs are getting plenty of green veggie food and have food to graze on all day. Soak their food in a good vitamin supplament and it should be fine.
