Grtting fish today what to do

I am getting fish today, I am planning on doing the drip acclimation, what and how kind do I do it for?

Im not sure i understand what you said in the end there.... Do it for about an hour and a half in the bad of water the fish came in. When you want to add the fish take him out an put him in the tank, dont dump in all the water. You want about a drip of water every second.

I'd QT first, but if you're not going to........ Float the bag for about 15 minutes to temp acclimate, then dump the bag of water & fish into a clean 5gal bucket & run a piece of air tubing from the tank to the bucket with a few knots tied in for drip adjustment. Each time the water volume doubles, take a cup & remove half (do this a few times). Agree on the hour to hour & half.
