Hair algae

I think I'm having a hair algae outbreak in my 7 month old reef aquarium. I just noticed it a few weeks ago and performed a few extra water changes but nothing has stopped it from growing. Any suggestions? I know I need rodi I've ordered it but I didn't have a issue for the first 6 months is it normal for it to show at this stage?

Are you using ro/di water? Have you tested your wc water for phosphate and nitrate?

Yes, if you've been using tap it would not be uncommon to see this come up after 5-6 months even longer sometimes. Once your ro-di unit comes start doing some larger water changes an it should reduce over time...
