Better lighting can cause increased algae growth, but that is just a part of what it needs to grow. Still nitrates and phosphates.

Have you read the directions for this product?
It presents a LONG ROAD of daily treatments while you remove your chemical media very slowly(4 weeks at best if you have high levels?).
I know no more then many here, but would just turn your lights down until you notice they aren't doing what is needed and then move them back to previous setting?
80% is pretty high IMO if they are good lights?
Messing with the lights is free and well the other stuff sounds like a commercial version of carbon dosing and/or a Po4 type product(except for the bacteria part?).
Are you running a decent skimmer efficiently?

The directions just seemed overwhelming(well more then I want to do) to me?

Forgot to say IMO as my disclaimer!
