I get 500w halogen bulbs free at work can these be used on my saltwater tank or are they too powerful thxs for u help

halogens arent very strong at all, and usually dont have the right color temp for a reef.

for the wattage the dont do diddly compared to T5's or MH, and they just create a bunch of heat.

added the PAR im sure is horrible

i say skip them
