help me make a fuge

i want to turn an old 2 gallon tank into a refuge for my 10 gal tank to cut down on nitrates. what type of plumbing and what not do i have to do/buy to pump the water out of the fuge and into the tank? the fuge will be below or behind the tank. TIA
