While cleaning my tank, The magnet on the tank side fell off and hit my long tenticle plate coral :cry: . Some of the tenticle where popped. How much damage did I do to it?? It there anything I can do to help him out??? Hurry the wife gets home soon and I had better have some anwsers for her!!!

Look into a magfloat, the inside portion will float to the top if it comes loose ;)

How much damage did I do to it??

It depends, injury is the biggest cause of LTP coral demise. They are very prone to infection when injured, since they are a sigle polyp, infection can mean a quick almost certain death.

It there anything I can do to help him out???

I would begin dipping the coral daily in a coral dip, like Kent's Tech D or Seachems coral dip, this may help keep the coral from becoming infected. Once the area has healed over you can stop dipping the coral.
