I have a 40 gal. tank that Its cycling but I know my 30 watts of lighting are not enough, so I want to build my own led lamp, but Im not sure whats the best option.

How much light do I need?

I found in EBay led from .99 up to 40 bucks and o dont know whats the best.

Please help me

Dont buy the ones you see on ebay. You can make a good DIY led. First you need to know how to make a aquarium led. Youtube can teach you that. Then look at the aquarium led website (i cant remember the name of some websites) for pricing and you can see the individual pieces. It should run around ~$150, more or less depending on tank size. If you can get that far, then the rest should be easy.
