hermit crabs

what r good peacefull hermit crabs to get and how many spare shells should i have for the hermit crabs thanks guys

I have been quite happy with my left hand dwarf zebra hermits, there has been very little snail predation and they seem to do a pretty good job. As for shells...I would put an assortment of sizes from slightly larger than what they are in when you get them and up. I started with 10 hermits, 1 has been removed and I keep about 30 spare shells in the tank in an assortment of sizes.

look into the blue legs hermits, mine where good and there cheap.

where do i get extra shells at does dr foster and smith sell them i cant find them anywhere

I have used Blue legs, Scarlets, White Tip Scarlets, and Zebra's they all work good IMO, Check your lfs and keep about 3 extra shells for each crab. It worked for me and I got more now that they reproduce.
