Holy Jeepers The tank is at 89*

Came home from work tonight to find my tank at 89*. This is a rather touchy moment right now as the other half turned the air off today and left it off all day. I can't believe it. I think I did the right thing though, I am not bringing it down too fast, so, I turned the air on, put a fan blowing into the sump area, and it has dropped to 86* now after an hour. This cannot happen again I am going to say... If you don't see me around here much, after this, you will know she kicked the sh$t out of me for thinking of the tank over her...

1) Tell her how much you got invested in the tank

2) Tell her it is more efficient and cheaper (better on the AC unit) to run it at a set temp 24/7 (Mine is set to 77)

3) Explain to her that if she does this again in the summer, the fish will die and the house will smell like Jax Beach

4) Most important one, Explain to her how it was your fault that this happened, you should have explained the needs of the fish to her in more detail, blah, blah, blah

Just be logical and she will apologize and be very understanding, if you fly off the handle....well, do you have a favorite flower we can send you in the hospital

You could also add potatos, corn and some pasta to make one heck of a soup.

Well, everything is cool, no probs in the tank and in the house. She was more worried over the cat though... Didn't think about that one. The Apt was over 90*...Kitty was on the kitchen floor keepin cool....

Ya the part about cheaper to keep the AC on is a good one.

Its much easier to maintain a temperature than to bring the temperature down in a house. Expecially if your AC unit is not oversized.
