Homemade cheato reactor

I have a 120 gallon reef aquarium, its been up and running for 2 years. I used to see pods on my rocks but I had a Leppard wrass that depleted them. I saw a video from Bulk Reef supply making a cheato reactor. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I don't have space on my sump for cheato.

you could just stuff some cheatoe under a rock in display in a corner some where fish will leave it alone as its not palatable to them
