I tested the water I'm mixing to do a water change and the PH is at 8.6 and the tank water is at 8.2. How do I get the mixed water the same as the tank? The water has been mixing for about 4 days,

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless your doing large water changes. The net change if doing 10% weekly water changes or so will be minimal. As long as the increase in the tank does not exceed 0.2 your all good. As an added safety precaution, do your water changes in the AM to reduce the overall daily gain in pH from getting above normal.

Thanks for the reply. How does the am differ from the PM. If I need to do a large water change, how do I control the PH.

Thanks again

pH is naturally at it's lowest in the AM so there will be less of a total daily swing.

An ounce or so of club soda added to the mix container.

In what why will the club soda help. Will it raise the Ph or lower it?

It will lower it. Club soda is essentially CO2.
