Have a used All Glass Megaflow sump, it's acrylic. I don't know the history and am wondering if it was ever used with a tank treated with copper.

Is there any way to tell?

If it was, what is the downside?

They have test kits that will tell you. If it ever did then dont transfer anything over to when you use it (LR or sand or media). Let me know what you find out.

This is the way that I clean out a used tank. Get a bucket of water and add a capful of bleach. Make sure only a capful and then take a clean rag and wash out your tank and rinse out several times. Then let completely dry. When I get the tank going I add some dechlorinator but I saw several people say that if you let dry you dont need the dechlorinater but I choose to be safe. Do this to clean your tank and hopefully it will rid your tank of any undesireables. Maybe someone else has a better way.
