how should i start cycling?

I just put my 25gallon tank partly together. All the equipment is set up and it has 20lbs of "live" sand from a bag some Eco complete i think. And 20lbs of Marco base rock. I have it in 1.024 salt. I'll be adding 20lbs of live rock in about a week. However I want to star to establish the base rock as much as I can to reduce my cycle time. I'm not a fan of having to dose ammonia so I'm winding if I can do the raw shrimp trick or wi it even matter to start the cycle.

Any form of ammonia will work. Toss the shrimp in and get it going lol.
