How to calculate amount of LR?

I'm setting up a fish only marine Aq. How do I calculate how much LR I need?

Take the capacity of the tank. For example 55 gal and it would be suggested you go with 55-75lbs of LR.

The more dense the rock the more rock in the tank you would need. The less dense the rock then the less weight rock you would need.

If your not planning on using the rock for filtratoin then you would need only as much as you wanted to decorate. When your talking about using the rock as a filter is when you use the 1 - 1.5lbs per gal calculation.
