I am starting to get a lot of growth from my green polyps (not sure what their exact name is.) Is there anyway to trim them up?

You can frag them. However if they are attached to the rock the likely you will need to remove the rock. Also a sharp razor and/or dremel of you want to remove part of the rock its attached to aswell.

They will compete for space. However your frogspawn would most likely come away the victor repelling any advance 'too' close.
