I have an issue with an algae covered sponge

I have an issue with an algae covered sponge. The Blue Leg hermits I have don't seem to be clearing the algae off of him. Internet searches, including this site, seem to indicate that Red Leg hermits will help. My concern is if I mix the Blues and Reds, if I'll start an all out gang war between the Blue crips and the Red bloods.
Do you think it would be wise to mix groups or is there another way to remove the algae from my little sponge? Thx

I have both in my tank. Not an issue as long as you have extra shells...but then it isn't a turf war, they'll jack the mobile home off someone else no matter the color.

You could try pointing a ph closer to your sponge to see if the algae will blow off...not directly onto it though.
