Impossible achievement?

Hello all,

I know I may take a heat at this but I am seeing the "impossible". I have a Power Blue Tang (about 4") in a 10 gallon QT with a piece of live rock. Shortly after he got ich all over and after treating with Ick Attack to no avail, I changed to Coopersafe that worked well in the past. Now he is ich free (he has been in QT for over 30 days) and looks like he is thriving in that small tank! He is very happy when I enter the room and he loves to swim back and forth between the small opening between the rock and the aquarium floor when he sees me. He eats flakes, raw seafood and even pieces of hamburger and chicken wing I tossed in the tank. He loves green and red caulepra and his color is becoming more intense. He is very active and alert and looks like he likes his enviroment. I have heard about PB succumbs to anything less than a 6 foot tank but I think he can be succesfully kept in that 10 gallon aquarium! Any comments?

BTW I do 50% PWC once a week. DP

at his current size it could be possibly done... but he will get bigger.. and then die off because the tank is to small.. i wouldnt push any of your luck with the little guy. if he is that happy in the 10 gallon... think of what happens when you put him in a tank he truely belongs in =P

If you read my other posts regarding this guy, I am so worried he may ich my main tank upon introduction. Perhaps you can chime in and give me some pointers. Dai

He wont make it in a 10 gallon tank. It wont happen right away but sooner or later he`ll start to develope problems. It doesnt happen right away. I remember a few yrs ago when someone asked basically the same question and when told what the deal was said everyone did not know what they were talking about. A few weeks later he had a thread titled Why are my fish dead? Tank crashes take time to get there but when they do then it`s hard to stop.

yellow tang in a 55g

Also in this old thread I asked someone who I consider to be the best there is in SW aquaria. He answered my question about having a fish in a smaller tank and what can happen. I think it`s good reading.
