My tank has been running for about a week. I threw two non-cooked shrimps in it to help the ammonia to rise and start my cycle. As of 11/17, my ammonia was at 2.5. So I'm making progress. My question is whether or not this is a good time to add rock? I just ordered 80lbs of aquacultured rock along with another 20lbs of livesand and i really don't want to mess anything up.

What do you think?

A lot of us used the LR to start the cycle, so I wouldn't think it would be a bad idea. There will be a little die-off, but the good thing is that once the cycle ends the LR will be cured and all should be well.

Personally I would feel better if your ammonia was a bit lower than 2.5 when you put the rock in. The reason is the rock itself will have some ammonia load and if you get to much ammonia load it wont be good for the stuff that comes on the rock in the way of inverts.
