Is there a minimum sump size

for a 55 gallon tank. My current stand has a center divider that carries much of the weight and can not be removed.

So if I keep my stand, I can use only one side for the stand for the sump. What is the minimum requirement for a 55 gallon?

There isn't really a minimum, but the bigger the better.. its really just if its a usable size for what you wanna do.

Personally on a 55 I wouldn't go through the work of making it for anything less than a 20.
