Musket- I put a hand towel over the faucet so water doesn't splash up and out. By the end of the water changes it is soaked, but that is also because I have a slight leak.
The strainer trick is a good idea! But also, the python won't have as great of a suction if you use the kitchen sink. Just be cautious when vacing and you shouldn't suck anything up that you don't want to. To set the water temp just move the hot and cold water until it is at the appropriate temp. Mine changes temps after a while but we just adjust it. I can tell by feeling the hose if the temp is correct. The water flows in as hard as you want it to. If you want it to trickle in, turn the flow slower. If you want it to be faster, turn them up. I usually have ours on full blast. When removing water I use straight cold water. Considering we have a 150, 55, 29, and two 10 gal
tanks to change, I don't want to risk running out of hot water.
