Just started my tank and need fish and cycling advice

Started my 75 gallon reef tank yesterday. Have about 100 pounds of live rock. When should it be cycled? And how long until I should get a "test" fish? And what kind would be good that is worth keeping?

Test the water. What are your ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates at?

4-6 weeks.

It's shouldn't be too long based on the amount of live rock you have, but the only way to tell is through testing.

Just looking at the pic and have to ask if those darker pieces of rock are lava rock, if so you may want to take then out as they can leach out heavy metals and other undesirable minerals that can be very unhealthy for a reef tank
