Is there anything that I need to do to keep live rock "alive"??

Only the obvious of underwater. If you dont have any bioload in the tank you may need to feed the tank to keep the beneficial bacteria from starving.

A pinch of flake food every couple of days will work fine. It will create the same ammonia needed in cycling. The only difference is now you have the bacteria built up so you will see no ammonia spike at all. It will convert it as it is made.
