While watching Cowboys game tonight all of sudden I heard rushing water. My tank has been set up for about a week, I added two small damsels to display during a xmas party. I know it was too early but went for it. The rushing water was the tube coming off my return pump in my sump. I know there are plastic hose clamps available at hardware stores and I will get one, my questions is I went to Walmart and got a metal one to hold it on for the night. It shouldn't rust in the next day before I can fix it but would I be better off unhooking the sump from the tank so the metals not in the water or just leave it so there's still filtration for the 2 damsels?

You would probably be fine as long as you have your pumps running and your protein skimmer (if you have one)
