What would be the minimum strength led light to grow beginner corals ? I have a beamsworks led 76 light strip. 10000k, 400 lumens

It depends on the tank size. What size is your tank but to be honest I doubt that would grow anything.

Not sure how to do that but here are the specs

  • Dimensions - 23.00” x 5.00” x 1.00”
  • Brackets add 0.65" in height
  • Includes 78 LEDs
  • 400 Lumen
  • Super energy efficient .06 watt LEDs
  • 72x 10000K LEDs
  • 6x Actinic 460nm LEDs
  • Uses 7 watts
  • Slim and contemporary light design
  • 2 mode on / off function for day and night use
  • Extendable bracket - 24"-30" (60 cm - 75 cm) max extend
  • Non-corrosive powder coated aluminum housing
  • Splash guard
  • 110V - 220V

Being only 0.06 watts each they will not penetrate the water well and therefore not grow coral. If you want soft corals I'd try and get a fixture that has leds that are each at least 1 watt. 3 watt leds are better yet as they will penetrate the water further and grow most corals.

A good quality LED will produce about 120+ lumen per watt consumed. those are getting 57 lum per watt. Anything but efficient. Certainly won't support any corals.
