I have a 46 gallon bowfront tank that I'm getting ready to set up. I have a 400 watt metal halide setup that I was planning on using. Does anyone think it would give off too much light for this tank and also I worried about melting the cross brace. Any ideas how to solve my problem?

I wouldnt use the halide to be honest. It will surely melt the center brace and you cant remove it so youre kinda stuck.

You can get a single Tao led panel for about $100 and that would let you keep any corals you might want plus its way less heat and alot cheaper to run.

maybe you can sell off the halides on craigslist and recoup some cash to buy the led's......
