Should I run my lights during marine aquarium cycling?

No, it's not a good idea to run any lighting usually. The high levels of ammonia and nitrIte that your tank will go through as it's cycling plus lighting create primo feeding grounds for algaes, so it's best to leave things in the dark during your cycle. The bacteria don't need the light, so there's no downside to it either.

In the DC Metro Area? Check out GWAPA and WAMAS

I agree. Keep the lights off during the cycle.

I agree also. No lights needed during cycle.
