Hello, I'm a beginner in salt water. Space is limited in my house so I was looking to have a solo lion fish in a smaller tank preferably under <30 gallons. If there is a certain type of species or Lionfish that this is possible.

Also what are the specifics about getting a tank ready for a lion fish.

Thanks!

I would suggest no less than 55 gallons, for a fuzzy dwarf lionfish.

You would need to have no fish he would be Able to eat, no chromis, etc. He is also very poisonous, so id get gloves and tongs whenever you need to do maintanence. Try to get carribean lions, not the non invAsive south pacific lions. Make sure to cycle the tank before adding fish.

Agree with J8kpin, no less than a 55. And they are venomous, not poisonous
