just bought a 9 pds rock and it came with a snail. with my ammonia readings high, how long till it dies??

you'd be surprised how long it might live but It'll probably kick it within the week if it doesn't make it.

If you are concerned about the snail you can do a series of PWC to keep levels a bit lower. It will prolong the cycle, however.

Why not keep the snail in premixed SW in another plastic/rubber container? No need to keep him in the water the LR is curing in.
