I have read so much about live rock, but so far my problem hasn't been addressed. I live next to a beach with lots of rock, can I use those rocks for my tank? Do i have to cure it although it isn't leaving the water for more than a few seconds?

I would be careful of taking rock off the beach and putting it in your tank. There could be things on the rock that you don't want in your tank not to mention pollution and other "man-made" problems.

Not even if this rock is in the water? The rocks i speak about is from a natural reef on the beach.

I agree, the fist few miles of rock/sand/water will more than likely have all kinds of pollutants.

I guess I will have to go out on a boat and get it then.

That's probably your best bet. The farther you go, the better.
