When is it appropriate to add live rock to a new tank?

After you add your substrate and your salt water. Also depends on if the rock is cured.

Need a few more details. What are you trying to accomplish, are you cycling with fish or without?

We are cycling without fish. We added out water and salt a few days ago.

If your tank is still cycling and you don't have fish yet, it's okay to add uncured live rock or even cured live rock. With cured, it's fasten your cycle, but if it's uncured, the cycling will take longer.

You can add it now and throw in a Piece of shrimp and check your water parameters every 3-4 days. and your cycling should start. LR cured or uncured wouldn't matter it still needs to cycle being it a new tank in all.... Good Luck.
