live rock rubble in new sump set up

My display tank is going to over flow ontop of a chamber of bio-balls, then through a skimmer chamber. I have heard bad things about BB, that they are nitrate factorys. Would it be good to put live rock rubble in that chamber instead. any other suggestions.

Yes just remember live rock has to be under water at all times.

I agree with this. As long as that chamber is submerged it is a good idea.
