LR curing

So every source I read says to cure live rock before adding it to your tank, otherwise there will be die off, and that can kill your fish. That certainly makes sense.

My question is if I'm setting up a brand new tank can I just put the live rock right in? Won't the die off get my cycle started? Or do I still have to cure it in a seperate container first?

You can just toss it in. It shouldn't be enough to fuel a cycle fully. Toss a raw shrimp in and it'll go.
