Metal halide or LED?

Looking to make a frag tank. Which one grows the coral faster?

Assuming the units are reef capable, they both grow coral equally well (along with t5), but LEDs usually pay for them selves when it comes time for bulb replacement.

That makes sense, but I know a guy now that is starting to grow Zoas/Palys and is starting a distribution business. He basically has everything lighting-wise and is having better luck with metal halide on several Zoas. Some would barely open under LED (the eBay Tao's) so he moved them into a tank with MH and they are totally open and already starting to multiply. Not sure if this would be the same for SPS or LPS.
