Moving to larger tank

At the moment my reef tank is only 27 gal. I want to move it to a 45 tall. I have had this tank for a year now. What is the propper way to move everything to the larger tank?

fill the tank, get whatever extra rock you need, cycle it then break down the old tank and transfer everythign over to the new one
