MRC's 46 Gallon BF Thread

Well I guess I might as well open up a thread like everyone else for my tank .. well she's been running since the first week of the year and I just moved on the first of the month so figure now would be a good time to start the thread lol. I have a pair of occ. Clowns, pair of zebra barred dartfish, and a rainford's goby with an assortment of corals from softies to LPS and SPS. I've got a 6 bulb tek elite running 3 actinics 2 Fiji purples and one 10k new generation, 20 gallon sump/fuge and about 2250 gph in the DT. My next upgrade which I hope to have in a month or two will be a vortec mp10 and maybe a reef controller

Ugh man...had to start a build thread so I can hate you even more! ****, you even have to scrape little windows on the side of your glass due to all the coraline. That is crazy. Are you dosing at all? I can't even remember at this point.

I was for a couple months but just switched to more frequent small changes for now lol and I do enjoy my coraline window haha just scraped it like a week ago

Thats nuts. I have it on my rocks and not even dime size pieces on the glass. Stop having a better tank than me! Lol. We need some close pics of your acan lords and the rest of your sandbed for the thread.

No kidding. I never got coralline growth that quickly without dosing a little iodine every week and keeping the lights low at the beginning. I wonder if it's the lights, the flow, the salt or what. Whatever it is he's setting the standard on doing it right. Good grief! lol

2 part b-ionic holding for 2 months at 4.5-5 meq/l and 450-500 calcium ... I was getting great growth but to hold those levels with out a high end doser took a lot of work and was getting expensive to so I just swiched to frequent water changes of 5 gallons holding my levels around 3.0 meq/l and 450 calcium 1350 mag

So about 6 months back I added a pink feather duster. Over the next couple months it burried itself into my sand bed and dissapeared so I figured it was dead lol. Surprisingly though after the major rescaping I found it large and healthy attached to the bottom of one of my base rocks which my dartfish had made a cave under haha. I'll have to get some new shots of it but this is when I got it
