My cleaner shrimp molted

I noticed what looked like my cleaner shrimp's head stuck to the filter, complete with the big long whisker things and no body. I thought great the little bugger kicked the bucket. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw the little bugger walking around looking normal with his head intact. So I'm assuming he molted

mine has been moulting about once a month, is that normal?

Once a month is fine. Anything quicker is something to worry about. They molt for 2 reasons, to grow or because their shell is irritating and they shed it to remove the problem. This is caused by poor water qualities and excess iodine.
