hi everybody, i haven't really be posting on the forum too much lately of work and life being busy as ever lately. so ive decided to make my come back with my new 60 gallon reef ready cube tank

Well to make a long story short i decided to sell my 45 gallon bow front fish only system in order to upgrade to a nice reef tank i mean what the heck! go big or go home right but i wanted something sleek not a big tank but a well setup cube reef tank with led lighting so i dove in. sold the 45 on CL for 300 bucks and off i went to that pet place to pick up my new holy grail ......

i have already build a stand and hood built for the tank.. i will update my progress on the build as i hope to have the setup complete and running any my fish in my a little after xmas. ( i have all my fish in qt and all my rock and sand in 20 gallon toots witch all came from my 45 tank.) i have 90 lbs of live rock and about 70 lbs of sand. ready and waiting to go.

let me know what u guys think....

thanks..................

So Christmas was good to me. I got my reefangel controller, leds and vortech pump plus a bunch of other stuff ( most were gifts to myself :) )

Got the tank in place the sump all built and everything water tested. Filled with saltwater rinsing sand now so I can get the sand a rocks in the tank tomorrow.

Let me know what u guys think.

it will be a mixed reef. mainly with peaceful fish i havent nailed down a fish list yet but im thinking of this so far

1. pair of b&w occ clowns
2. lemon peel angelfish( i know the risks)
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?

in terms of coral the list is long lol

Glad you're making a reef tank! Looks great even before there's anything in it :D. Maybe add a purple firefish, some type of wrasse, or a yasha goby to the list. Best to add the angel last if it's the most aggressive.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is the best seat in the house. I can't wait to stock it.

Yea I know the deal with the angel fish I have a bi- color in my 45 tall reef in my living room witch I'm turning in to the aggressive tank for my lion fish and my maroon clown that are in qt right now. :)

It's gonna be a busy couple weeks ill keep u guys updated as it all comes together.

Oh and forgot to add I plan on moving my yellow canary wrasse from my living room tank to the new 60 gallon.

Just a quick update. I got the sand and lr in the tank. The sump is pretty much completely setup except for the fuge. I'm waiting on a order from brs with loc-line and my ato pump and a few other things. Also waiting for a order from reefangel with a few more add on for my controler. I'm waiting for the water to clear I did the sand last night and when I get home I'm hoping my water is all clear.

Here's some pics let me know wat u think.

Awesome tank! How much live rock did you add to this tank? Or did you go with some base rock?

It's all live. about 60 lbs came from my old tank and have been in a trash can with water a power head and heater for a month and the top piece came from my other tank in my living room. Alot of the rock has bleached from being in the trash can. Not to much coraline left but in a month or so it will be bright purple :)

Very awesome!! I'm looking to get a wooden canopy for my tank. If I got one would I be able to keep my HOB protein skimmer?

Mind if I ask where you got the tank? I haven't seen one like that before in my LFS.

Wow you're not kidding when you say DSB!! Lol.

That top rock in your scape kinda scares me. Is it stable? Looks like it could topple easily and fall on someone. :/ Otherwise, i think the rock scape looks good! :)
