I was told you'd lose most of your pods if you skim them. I would flip that setup around for sure.

Thats part of the reason I have mine setup the way it is.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

Order the fish from live Aquaria they have cheaper prices and a 2 week guarantee on most fish.

Most online retailers have a guarantee on most of their fish. I've ordered from petsolutions.com and they have the same policy.

I agree with carey, your pods arent going to to make it out of your sump if you skim them

Ok so here goes nothing. I'm gonna swap the bins around so that the middle bin will be the refugium and return pump...then on the right, which is the first bin, will be the skimmer.....I sure hope this works......

I need some help... I got the bins switched but now my return pump is in the refugium...my refugium is not gonna be effective unless I slow the flow down in the refugium. But I have noo clue how to set this up so my skimmer is before everything I think I need 3 bins.. I think I'm gonna remove all the plumbing and simply drop each overflow tube down into a bin.... The left bin will be. The refugium....on the right will be the skimmer...and the middle will be a 10g with just the return pump....think this would work???

So your overflow goes to 2 bins, and the bith go to a third with the pump? Ive heard of others doing yhe same.

That's what I'd like to do. Would it be ok to just make a 6-8 inch hose that drops down into a bin on each side? Hopefully I'm making sense. I ultimately want there to be three bins..the refugium on the left, the skimmer and some lr in the right bin, then a middle smaller bin holding just the return pump. Opinions? On the subject of trates, did I mention I absolutely hate trates?? I really do. I re tested tonight and got the following
Ammo-0
Trites-0
Trates-7
Ph-8.2
Alk-300+
Temo 83
Sg-1.023
I completely forgot about the whole not disturbing est sand while moving my refugium around...was deathly worried of a spike. But lucky I didn't see one, I actually seen a fairly big drop in trates since the pwc....getting tired of pwc's every 3-4 days but know it needs done. I'm not giving up lol. I did also receive my shipment confirmation email. Expected delivery date is the 22nd!!!! Can't wait to have full tank lighting! Also going to pick up 6 10g tanks from a seller and a refrac. From another on sat morning. Sorry for bouncing around topics but wanted to cover everything

others have done it that way with no issue so it must work, i would say it would be best to have a smaller portion go through the fuge than the skimmer using a valve so like 2/3 of the water goes to the skimmer the rest to the fuge then all meets back up in the return section.
