We have koralias and love them. The flow is more dispersed and softer so even though they flow a lot more water our fish love swimming in the current.

10 times flow rate is not bad at all. You have 1000gph without sump my guess is you have at least 250 from that so youre at least hitting the min, my guess is youre close to 13-14 times flow rate. Which is not a far cry from the well recommended 15times

The 1400's are ALOT of flow for our tanks. I have 2 of them and don't keep them both on some of the time. It's just too much flow in my opinion. But I do like having the option of plugging the extra one in and going with that sometimes.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

yeah its beginning to set it...thatd be 2800gph from just the 2 ph's....thats more than likely almost double the gph than my ENTIRE setup now lol...perhaps the 1000's are a more suitable choice

If I knew then what I know now I probably would have gone with the 1050's so I could keep them on all the time. Then again, I wouldnt have gone with a 1500gph return pump either. It's always overkill with me it seems. LOL

ugghh why does this hobby have to be soo unpredictable and addicting?? my girl and i had decided to spend the day out of town looking for new things to do. so on our way back from wheeling wv. (45 minute drive) we decided to stop along the way at a newly built shopping center. in said shopping center was a Petco that i meandered into and guess what i hppened to find? Black Volitan Lions for half the price that id pay back home!!! so needless to say im currently acclimating our newest member.below is a pic, he truly is black, not a dark red. and i even had a worker feed him to make sure he was eating good...ohhh my he didnt even hesitate at gulping the food. wasnt planning on adding my volitan for a few months but couldnt pass up the price.
